Amrutkaal अमृतकाल

About Amrutkaal

Amrutkaal is a daily panchang for Indian cities, computed from astronomy. Every tithi, nakshatra, and muhurat on this site is calculated mathematically using the Swiss Ephemeris library with the Lahiri ayanamsa — the standard used by the Indian government's Rashtriya Panchang.

We don't predict the future. We don't sell anything. The site will always be free. Our single purpose: accurate panchang that users can read to plan their day — auspicious times for new ventures, daily rahu kaal to avoid, festival dates for the year ahead.

What this site is

What this site isn't

Who builds this

Amrutkaal is built by Ranjeet Kumar, an engineer from India who grew up watching family plan their days around the panchang — and was bothered that accurate panchang lived either in thick printed almanacs or on websites buried in ads. This site is the answer to that: pure computation, quiet design, free forever.

Every city's computation and every design decision follows one principle: respect the reader's time and their tradition equally. If you ever find an error in a timing, write in — it will be fixed.

Editorial policy

Every timing on Amrutkaal is the output of an astronomical calculation, not an opinion. Tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana, muhurat and Rahu Kaal are derived purely by mathematics; where traditions differ (for example purnimanta vs amanta month reckoning), we follow the standard Rashtriya Panchang convention and say so plainly. We publish no predictions and take no payment to alter or promote any timing.

Each city page carries a visible "last updated" stamp and a link to the full method. If a timing ever looks wrong, email us — corrections are prioritised, and a fix to the computation propagates across every page. We would rather be corrected than be confidently wrong.

Data sources & accuracy

We validate our output against established published panchangs so that tithi, nakshatra and muhurat agree. The complete methodology — including the formulae — is documented openly on the Method page, and the concepts behind each limb are explained in our guides: What is Panchang?, Tithi, Nakshatra, Rahu Kaal and Abhijit Muhurat.
