Panchang Explained

Listen to Today's Panchang (Panchang Audio)

For generations, the panchang was something you heard — the family priest or an elder read the day's tithi, nakshatra and muhurat aloud each morning. Amrutkaal brings that tradition to every phone: every city's panchang page has a round Listen button (सुनें) that reads the full day aloud in a warm Indian voice — "आज का पंचांग सुनाओ" is now just one tap. It is completely free, needs no app or sign-up, and works in both Hindi and English.

What the audio reads out

The voice reads everything that matters for the day, composed as natural sentences — not a screen reader rattling through menus. You hear today's tithi and when it ends, the nakshatra, the yoga, sunrise and sunset, Rahu Kaal with a reminder to avoid new beginnings, Yamaganda and Gulika Kaal, and the auspicious windows — Abhijit Muhurat, Brahma Muhurat, Amrit Kaal and Vijaya Muhurat — each with exact local timings spoken in words ("राहु काल सुबह 9 बजकर 58 मिनट से…").

On the rashi calculator the audio is personal: it speaks your moon sign, its lord, your nakshatra and pada, your rashi's nature, lucky day, colour and number — and on kundli matching it reads the full Gun Milan score with what it means by tradition.

How to listen (any phone, free)

Open the panchang page for your city — for example Mumbai, Delhi, or any of 6,390 Indian and 3,800+ worldwide cities — and tap the round pulsing button at the bottom-left. The voice starts immediately; tap again to pause. Switch the page to हिन्दी and the same button speaks in Hindi. After one complete reading it stops on its own.

The audio is generated by your own phone's voice (the browser's built-in text-to-speech). Nothing is recorded or uploaded, nothing is downloaded, and it costs nothing — it even works on slow connections because no audio file ever travels over the network.

Who it helps

Elders who find small panchang tables hard to read. Anyone driving or cooking who wants the day's muhurat hands-free. Family members abroad who want to hear the panchang of their home city — every page worldwide speaks in that city's own local timings. And everyone who simply prefers hearing the panchang the way it was traditionally recited.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I listen to aaj ka panchang in Hindi?

Open your city's panchang page on Amrutkaal, switch to हिन्दी (top-right), and tap the round Listen (सुनें) button at the bottom-left. Today's full panchang — tithi, nakshatra, Rahu Kaal, shubh muhurat — is read aloud in Hindi with exact timings. Free, no app needed.

Is the panchang audio free? Do I need an app?

Completely free, with no app, no sign-up and no download. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone and desktop. The voice is generated on your own device, so nothing is uploaded and no audio file is downloaded.

Can I listen to Rahu Kaal time for my city?

Yes — the narration always includes today's Rahu Kaal with start and end time for your exact city, plus Yamaganda and Gulika Kaal, with a reminder that new ventures are traditionally avoided in these windows.

Which languages does the panchang audio support?

Hindi and English today, on every page. The same warm female voice reads both, and you can switch language from the page's language toggle. More Indian languages are planned.

Does it work for cities outside India?

Yes — every one of our 3,800+ worldwide city pages (USA, UK, UAE, Australia, Singapore and 80+ countries) speaks the panchang in that city's own local time, computed for its own sunrise.
